OBJECTIVES
Our goal is to save young lives with a variety of mental health challenges through a uniquely successful private approach elaborated over 15 years of practice. We have founded “The Alastair Shooting Star Fund’ with two objectives in mind. One is to provide ongoing scholarships based on financial needs, including full and partial, to attend the Yes We Can Youth Clinics. We have also received a green light in collaboration with Bocconi University to create a business plan to found a clinic building on their best practices in Italy, able to serve 400-500 young local and international youth per annum.
We are collaborating closely with the Fondo Filantropico Italiano, Progetto Itaca, which develops prevention and support programs for people with mental health issues and their families, Dynamo, which helps families with children with chronic illnesses and Yes We Can, a program of extraordinary quality focused on personal resilience and community building through a 10 week onsite program critical to building strength and endlessly supportive relationships and follow-up.
HONORING ALASTAIR
Our beloved Alastair gave us the gift of 20 years of his magical, sunny, most interesting and complex life. Born a twin in February, he took his life in December, 20 years later. Sensitive and responsible as he was, always a ready ear to others and informed about everything under the sun, at a certain point he could no longer handle the weight of man’s inhumanity to man on a global and personal scale.
His friends continue visiting us and send us thoughts and memories of Alastair, which perfectly match who he has always been: intelligent, responsible, kind, and always
ready to help his dear ones. His relationships at his alma mater Bocconi, St. Louis, NEST+m, Taglit, as well as those of the Yes We Can clinic survive him as a testament to the program’s immense positive impact on their fellows. We can only hope that having felt so much grief about the state of the world and young people’s troubles, he is now at peace with other angels just like him.
